Everyone knows what to expect at the post office, but this location is beyond unhelpful. English is the second language (not a problem for me), but as a result, they don't know how to explain things or give clear instructions. All I tried to do is open a post office box. Because the two ladies there are incompetent, they respond by being extremely rude hoping that you will just leave. They don't understand their own instructions, so they aren't successful at articulating proper instructions or informing customers how to do what needs to be done. Completely useless!

Please do not visit this USPS for anything. They are not helpful and very rude. I was here with a return package and they were so rude to me that I just thanked them and got out of the store. I drove 40 minutes just so I don’t have to deal with them. Please don’t visit them they are very rude for no reason.

Updated 16 May, 2025, and this PO is still working hard to win the title of worst USPS facility in NoVa. Of six articles of first class mail scanned in on 28 April, only two have actually shown up in my box three weeks later. So where is the missing mail? "Probably stolen," I was told. Stolen while en route between Sully and Aldie? "Yeah." And don't waste your time contacting Rep. Subramanyam's office - they will refer you to the USPS web site. Privatization of the USPS is the only solution. Fire all of the lazy union slugs and hire people who actually care about the job they are supposed to be doing.
Updated September, 2023. This post office has hit a new low; mail that is scanned in @ the Sully branch is now taking as long as three days to be posted in my box @ Adie. Three days. And no one @ Aldie or Sully can explain where it is during those three days. Sully says the mail went out to Aldie the morning it was scanned, and Aldie says they never received it until the day it was posted, three days later. Lies, lies and more lies. Don't bother to contact Jennifer Wexton's office about USPS problems - all you get is the typical democrat word salad and forwarded nonsensical "explanations" from the USPS about how their services work. I know how they work - they don't. It does not take three days to move scanned mail a distance of 15 miles, from one post office to another. Absolutely ridiculous, and the USPS was recently approved for yet another rate increase! For what? Does it take additional funding to slow things down even more? Or was the rate increase to fund the idiotic electric vehicles that the post office says it needs? They couldn't be any slower if they used mules to haul the mail. This is a far cry and a bitter disappointment compared to the excellent service the box holders @ Aldie used to get ten, 15 years ago.
I've had box service here for 28 years - never had a problem. The reviewers who criticize this branch for home delivery problems are ignorant - the mail carriers do not operate from this branch and home delivery problems have nothing to do with this branch. Lash out at someone else - not the kind, efficient and friendly staff at Aldie PO!
Updated December, 2022 - this post office has gone downhill precipitously. It used the be my favorite, but not any more, unless you want to hear idiotic excuses and experience incredible rudeness. Its time the staff here moved on to somewhere else, and be replaced by the kind of employees that used to work here, when you could actually get help. I'd rather drive the extra miles to Middleburg than deal with the employees at Aldie.
