My 15 yr old son got his gf a postcard and thought it would be so special for her to receive it while we were on vacation to let her know he was thinking of her. So I go to the post office and hand the lady the post card (having no idea how much it cost to mail a post card) she said, you got a dollar ? Yep sure do. Hand it to her, she tells me have a good day ! I'm like wow, $1 to mail a post card, not that big of a deal but it used to be like $.15. But its been a while so maybe prices changed. So we mailed this on a Monday morning around 9 a.m. Over a week later we had already returned home from vacation and his girlfriend still never received her post card. She got it in the middle of the week the following week. So not only did she just voluntarily charge me whatever she felt like, the card didn't even get to where it needed to be on time. I learned its $.65 to mail a post card. So now we include gratuity to postage ?? Technically thats theft !
