I am utterly disgusted with Platteville USPS. Mailed 4 tax returns on April 13, 2026, via certified mail, and I was just told today, June 18, 2026, that one of them never made it past the Platteville USPS office where I mailed them, even though I have a receipt with tracking and confirmation that all four mailings were labeled properly. Despite the total failure to provide the service I paid for, Platteville USPS says there is no refund for the $8 paid for certified mail. I asked, "So basically I paid you to lose my mail?" The USPS clerk there said, "Yes." Absolutely no remorse. No apology. Nothing. I asked, "So am I just out of luck?" She said, "Yes." I said okay and walked away, and she said, "Next!" Probably just another day in the life for them. Frankly, it isn't that surprising considering I often see other people's mail blowing around our yard. Next time I'm going to ensure each mailing for $1,000 simply as an investment with a good expected ROI. If you know me, you know I'm a staunch defender of USPS workers. They do a thankless job while their pay and benefits fall woefully behind those of other employers. But the service I experienced at Platteville USPS was disgusting, and their response was even worse. I guess just shut the whole operation down at this point if that's the best you can do USPS, because you obviously don't like your job and you don't care about it.

consistantly terrible, staff is rude and uncaring. I was told to my face to "suck it up" because they lost a package of mine during a handoff with a partner carrier company. When I asked to be connected with someone else - preferably higher ranking - I was denied and told to leave the premises. all over a small mishap with a package. I never received my package or compensation. Truly disappointed in this place. customer service line also refused to help me find my lost package - said there was nothing they could do. I hate USPS.

Called because items were not being forwarded to our new address out if town after completing the proper COA form. We moved less than 2 months ago, mail and packages should be forwarded for 12 months at least. Man on the phone seemed bored/indifferent about my concern. Luckily, I have a neighbor to collect stray mail that ends up at our old address, its just an inconvenient drive. Others may not have the luxury of having local contacts to hold their mail for them. This can lead to important documents and packages being stolen by bad apples in the community. Do better.

This post office marks letters as non-machinable even if they pass the machinable test.
