- AOAlan OwenJul 15, 20262.0Two experiences make me feel that some Silverdale employees are NOT to be trusted: 1-Our certified mail was already opened when we went to the post office in person a month ago to pick it up and an older white male handed it to us after a weird interaction with another employee, a middle-aged Asian lady. There are only a few people legally allowed to open certified mail and local employees are not. They never attempted to reseal it and never explained why or what happened. 2-Had a small package from Etsy with USPS tracking that was received at the same Silverdale location at 5:21am July 2, but they failed to deliver it on the 2nd AND on the 3rd, finally delivering it the following Monday on the 6th, making it three business days to deliver it two miles away. Maybe that wait is allowed for regular mail and maybe they were understaffed for the holidays or had call-outs (apparently a problem here in Kitsap), but, it felt strange that they let a package sit at the local post office for five days. However and thankfully, our interactions at the local branch have been professional and polite, better than many we have had with some of the rude locals that are the first interaction or face of their respective employer. Because of our obnoxious experiences we have experienced by those other people, we are still grateful to the USPS for treating as well. Thank you.
