They're open 0930-1630 with a 15min break every 45 min? That is the most ridiculous schedule I've ever seen. This place is not that busy for them to need THIS amount of off time. Also, post a picture of your office hourse on your website. A paper on a window is not sufficient advertising for work place office hours.

Going to McChord Post Office is worse than a coin flip. Today's example? Going there at 9:20 knowing it'll be open at 9:30. When does the door finally open? 9:40 so the postal worker can tell the 4 people waiting the whole time: "Sorry, our services are down today." I'm posting this, the 60th review for this post office, as a 1-star review which is me being generous.

Rude. Not helpful and pass everything to Lakewood location to shift responsibility.

I like to be impartial with reviews, but the conduct of this place makes that VERY difficult. I went there today at 1030 to mail off a package. I came into the building and there is a line of Airman 5 deep. I am thinking that I may have gotten here right when they open, but that wasn't the case. The door to the Post office is closed and there is a crumpled-up sign that says "Closed for Technical difficulties" as if this was a tv station. An airman was knocking on the door as the sign looked too old to be put on there today. There was no answer, so I went to the other mail rooms that are in the building that were staffed. They had no idea that the USPS was closed and said that the lady was there earlier. So I decided to come back in a couple hours. Same thing, door closed, junky sign. I walked around to the other side of the building where the Airman’s PO boxes are and heard some chatter. I asked the two ladies if the post office was still closed and again, they were completely unaware. She mentioned that they got the mail from the USPS and were sorting it. Sigh
I have been to this PO before and have yet to have a decent experience. There's a black lady there that wears a head rap and has a very large personality. I was talking with a fellow airman and the music was up in the mail room. A song by the 90's group Jodeci came on and I commented that I never really liked them, and they make me nervous because of how short they were. Well, you would have thought that this woman gave birth to KC High because she jumped into high gear and started berating me about them and how wonderful they are and then she said, "I wouldn't expect a white man to understand, this isn't white men can’t jump!" Now, the airman that was with me was black himself and he asked her "What does that even mean? and oh BTW, he wasn't talking to you, he was talking to me."
The statement didn't make sense , because I am 6ft 4 and can dunk a basketball and Jodeci can’t ANNND Woody Haralson did dunk the ball at the end of the movie so...that's 2 for me...Just saying.
Anyway, there was a third time I was there where they literally went to lunch 1 hour after opening, or on break or an extended lunch....
USPS....is this how you serve the Military? Bigoted, rude employees?
P.S. Bigoted comments only work when they are relevant and since she can’t dunk a basketball and I can so Boooyaaa.

You might think you know how bad a government funded service agency can be but this is very possibly the worst USPS on the surface of the planet. The level of service at this location is so impressively bad, it should honestly be boycotted so it shuts down permanently and maybe we get a FedEx, UPS, DHL-- literally anything else. A McDonald's would be of more use at mailing packages than this God forsaken USPS. ZERO STARS IF IT WERE AN OPTION. DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS, I PROMISE YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED.
