Unfortunately, we’ve come to accept that mail delivery to our home is unreliable, and we no longer trust it for anything important. Neighbors and I have witnessed packages being tossed from the delivery truck onto curbs or driveways, and envelopes are often found on the ground rather than placed in the curbside mailboxes. Customer service at the post office itself has also become disappointing. One particular employee is consistently dismissive of helping unnecessarily rude to customers. Based on a thread within the FB community, this is not an isolated experience. In a small town, interactions with the people who serve the community matter. It’s unfortunate that both unreliable delivery and unpleasant in-person service have become accepted realities for our local post office, with little indication that management is interested in addressing either.

It was a stretch making it 2 stars for the Purcellville Post Office. Until about a year or so ago they werent bad. I dont know whether they have a new Postmaster or not. Last time I was there and talked to the Postmaster she was pretty rude. I'm supposed to get the Wall Street Journal delivered every day but Sunday. It's now Tuesday and I just got Monday's paper. I have yet to get the paper for last Friday or Saturday. They will probably show up in a day or two. Lately Ive been getting the Saturday weekend edition on the Tuesday or Wednesday after the weekend it was for. They are clearly unorganized and from talking to other people about them they couldn't care less. It seems we have a different local delivery driver every few weeks. At this rate, they should just consolidate it with the Post Office in Hamilton or others. If they cant do their jobs, get rid of them. They are losing ever more money because they cant be counted on and people use them only for basics and only as a last resort. Dont count on getting anything timely, at least from this local office. .

Dysfunctional. They miss deliveries and phone calls with equal dedication.

They pick up the phone then hang it up. Every time. Shameful.

USPS was supposed to deliver my package on Saturday. At 330 the delivery driver marked my package as requested to be picked up by customer. I never requested that as I wasn’t even home that day. Drove 15 minutes to the post office this morning for pickup and the lady at the counter tells me that she thinks there was a mixup and my package ended up in someone else’s bin but she can’t look for it bc there’s a line. Why would they mark it as a request I made, when it was the delivery driver’s mistake? When I asked her what’s going to happen to my package she said it would be redelivered IF it was in there. So no employee would verify my package was there and also couldn’t tell me when I would receive it, IF I would receive it. Basically just wait and see if it gets redelivered. Ironically they also delivered a different package yesterday and the package was so mangled the box inside that box sustained damage. Absolutely horrible customer service and when I asked for a supervisor, I was told she wasn’t in and would have to follow up with me. Really hoping someone follows up because this is ridiculous
