Nearly every time I go to this post office they have closed early with zero explanation aside from a note on the door telling you to go to another post office. They also do not answer the phone if you wanted to check ahead and see if they are open or not. Extremely inconvenient and frustrating. Functions fine when they are actually open! But if you have a shipping deadline just go to another post office rather than gambling on whether this one is open or not.

They might as well close this branch down, it’s never open. Don’t believe the signs on the door that say they’re open at 4 pm. You will just waste your time.

If I could rate 0 stars I would. As a small business in Norfolk, we rely on our local postal office to operate normal hours for our shipping needs. The postal office on 20th is the MOST unreliable business!!! Closed when they should be open, rude when you walk in, all in all awful! The price of shipping should help pay for better staffing!

Went in to drop off a pre-labled package (something I've done for 2+ years as its the same service I routinely ship things back to) and the lady at the front told me its supposed to be fedex. Interesting, as I pointed out that I always bring them here and have never had any issues. I asked about my previous packages from the last 2 years since I haven't ever had an issue... she then laughed, pointed at a stack of packages and said "probably sitting right here not getting shipped" I understand if you need me to bring my package elsewhere, but be professional. Also, I hope if you've ever dropped a package off here its not just sitting behind the counter and actually got shipped. Sidenote- Went to another post office in Virginia Beach. Guess what, they took my package as usual with no issue.

I ordered a Japanese DVD from someone in VA Beach that should have been delivered in Norfolk on 5/14, 4 days after I ordered. It was out for delivery and now it’s been sitting in the network for a month. They never searched for my item after asking them to do so. USPS promised to refund my item but that check hasn’t shown up either. Since clearly the carrier stole my item, I must ask: what are you going to do with a DVD that’s in a language you clearly can’t understand?
