Very impolite staff. The older lady is the rudest I have ever seen. She kept berating me for asking questions. Kept telling me i could drive if i dont want to pay that much for shipping. It was very uncalled for. I really dont understand why she is even there. She is very salty.

Back when I lived in Newport News, I came to this post office frequently and remembered it having decent customer service. The experience I had today was very surprising. The young representative with the receding hairline and gelled down bun was incredibly rude. When I approached the counter and greeted her, she gave me a stank eye. Then, she proceeds to say this needed to be taped up my return label. I did not have it tapedat the moment and I was willing to pay them extra if they were able to tape it up for me. However, she didn't even give me the opportunity to ask. I did provide a survey that was on the screen and I did give her a bad survey. Before she gave me my receipt, she said "thank you and next time please remember the tape it up and she walked away". I work for customer service and the way that she acted was completely unprofessional and for the other older employee to try and defend her, she's equally wrong. Count your blessings and be happy that you have a job because with that bad attitude, you won't get far. I won't be coming back to this post office again.

1st) Why is it every time i go here, it feels like i am inconveniencing them by having them do their job? 2nd) I just sent out a package, got a receipt, looked at the receipt and saw 5 addresses and tracking numbers on there that I didnt recognize. Took receipt back in and asked, she said oh those are probably the last packages i sent out, told me mine was on the bottom. I was just about to say so you gave me 5 tracking numbers for other people's packages? Then she finally realized how bad that was, crumbled up the receipt and gave me a new one and acted like I was the one was in the wrong. YOU GUYS REALIZE YOUR PUBLIC SERVANTS RIGHT? Your job is to take care of the public. Stop acting like we're the problem. Rude people.

I try to show grace and patience to the actual workers at this location but it’s always something. One employee claims they are always under staffed, which is not her or anyone that works there, fault, however she keeps a constant attitude. She’s mad that people are there to mail off packages, claiming we think she works for us. She mentions how we should have made a scan sheet so all she has to do is scan one time and it scans all the packages. I replied that’s a great idea however why have an attitude if the general public are not aware of these services. I bring in my packages with a pre-paid label, properly packaged and only needing a scan with no receipt and she complains every single time. I would just drop my packages off in the mailbox inside the facility to avoid interaction altogether but every time I have done that, my packages are NEVER, picked up and scanned same or next day. Even though, there’s supposedly two collection times Mon-Fri. There have been times they have actually closed the office almost an hour before stated closing time with no sign stating why. I can understand needed to do so for 5-15 minutes to use the restrooms, however they will stay closed with a sign stating they cannot accept or process overnight packages. No return time or anything else. I don’t know if more staff is the answer but there is a desperate need for overall operational improvement.

Nice friendly reps. Always in and out quickly. Small post office, and kinda of hinder, so never busy. That makes it extremely convenient. If you're in the 23601 zip and need to visit the post office, it's the best one to go to and be able to get out quickly.
