I don't know who took over managing this location, but it is NIGHT AND DAY from a couple months ago. Customer service focus with an increased attention to detail which clearly increased overall aptitude and efficiency of the Merrifield Post Office. Good leaders inspire great followers who become great leaders in their craft. Well done, everyone.

visited the Merrifield USPS location today (04/27/2026 around 11 AM), and the experience was mixed. The employee who assisted me, Hope, was professional, respectful, and handled everything correctly. I want to make sure she gets credit, because her service was exactly what you’d expect. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by the behavior of another employee nearby. While I was being helped, this employee appeared to start recording me, which immediately made the situation uncomfortable. During a brief exchange, I mentioned that I had previously been called “racist” at this location because of my political views, and the employee responded by saying “you are” and then walked away. That kind of comment is completely inappropriate in a customer service setting. Regardless of personal opinions, customers should be treated with neutrality and respect. I’m not trying to escalate things unnecessarily, but this kind of behavior reflects poorly on the location. Again, Hope handled things professionally, but the overall experience was not what it should be.

I had a very frustrating experience at this USPS location. I specifically asked for a prepaid return envelope for my visa application, which included important documents like my passport. The clerk assured me it was taken care of and placed a sticker on the envelope. Later, I found out that the prepaid return label was never actually processed correctly. Because of this mistake, my documents could have been stuck indefinitely, and I was at real risk of losing access to my passport during an active visa process. This is not a small error—handling mail related to passports and legal documents requires accuracy and attention to detail. I trusted the staff to process this properly, and that trust was misplaced. I strongly recommend double-checking everything if you use this location, especially for time-sensitive or important shipments.

I had a very disappointing experience at the Merrifield location due to extremely unprofessional customer service. The young lady I interacted with was dismissive, unhelpful, and lacked basic courtesy. It made what should have been a straightforward interaction unnecessarily frustrating. I hope management addresses this, as it reflects poorly on the business.

I'm here for fingerprints and the experience of this usps was sucks. I searched the usps website it says Sunday open and work for fingerprints service, it doesn't show any other information. When I arrived here, a lady just told me the merchine is down. I asked What about Monday She said you can try. What does that mean you can try? Just tell me not sure when is it gonna works. The passport office door is open and then that merchine is down?
