  Do not go to this post office for passport related services. I set up an appointment to get my passport done at this location. When I arrived, I was told their camera system doesn't work and that an email was sent explaining that. I never received such an email. The clerks told me to go to the nearby CVS so I can take my own picture and bring it back. When I asked if I could still get my passport done the same day, they just kept repeating to go to CVS. So I went to CVS to take and print my own passport photo. At the register, I told the cashier what happened at the post office and he said, "They've been saying their camera system hasn't worked for years..." Amazing-- this post office has a known issue and no one is trying to fix it. On my drive back to the post office, one of the clerks calls me and asks if I was done at CVS because they were about to cancel my appointment. She thought this was really funny for some reason. The only reason I am giving two stars is because one of the clerks was willing to work with me even though I had brought the wrong identifying information. She let me go home and come back with the right documents (this took longer than I thought even though I live within 5 minutes of the post office). I appreciated that. But I think this location needs to be reviewed by upper management. The clerks are way too comfortable with being dismissive and even rude to customers. Based on my experience and previous reviews, it's like they make up the rules as they go along. It's clear they have no direct oversight and so they do as they want. This is unacceptable when it comes to a government service like the post office.

  Basics and no more. I bought a book of stamps and had a few certified letters to send. After letters were processed I never received the stamps which was left on the counter on staff's side. When zi returned they told me they gave it to me. Would've given a 2 if it wasn't for this issue

  I arrived at the 10509 PATTERSON AVE, HENRICO, VA 23238 USPS location to for a walk in passport service. Per the post office’s website, walk-in passport services are completed from 12:00 p.m.-3 p.m. I arrived at 1:30 p.m. with a completed passport application, passport photo, birth certificate, and a driver’s license in hand and prepared for processing. The clerk, who can be described as an older woman, made an inquiry of my last name. As soon as I stated it, she informed me that I have to have an appointment to be seen. I responded by informing her of the posted hours on the post office’s site, to which she replied that walk ins are only conducted from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Please note that there was no signage posted anywhere within the facility or on the door stating hours of passport services that correlated with her reported time. In addition, there was not a 2 p.m. appointment scheduled, which means that this was an available spot to complete my paperwork. However, the post office worker refused and directed me to the kiosk to schedule a future appointment. I was highly disappointed at the lack of concern and adherence to the service hours posted on the website. After completing the passport application process at a different location a day prior for TWO people, including THREE photos within a time period of 15 minutes, I am certain that my application could have been processed within the 15 minute window, especially with me having a completed application, identification documents, and a photo in hand. After this unfortunate experience, I drove to a post office in Chester, VA just to confirm that their posted walk in hours were correct, and was met with a completely different experience and positive level of customer service. Please DO NOT waste your time coming to this location.
