I'm a disabled vet and my son installed a mailbox for me that was entirely according to USPS specs for our road, tho apparently not in the line of travel for the carrier (but just 10ft away from it). Nowhere on the USPS website does it indicate that mailboxes need to be on a road OTHER than the one that's in your address! They want my son to dig it up so it's inconvenient for ME but convenient for THEM. That's not customer service, that's just being stubborn. Update: they asked for the height of my box to be 42-44" but my neighbors box is just 35". I guess "flexibility" is case by case?
