    I am writing this review more or less in response to a 1 star review written by Jentry Flint for First American Title. Unfortunately I have not had a chance to work directly with Jentry and her husband since I am the representative for the buyer on the transaction between Jentry, the seller and the new owner/buyer. If we had the opportunity to chat I hope that we could have had a chance to resolve some obvious concerns that she may be thinking as for what the buyers thoughts on this transaction were. I would like to clarify that First American Title did do a great job and the information we have received on the preliminary title was 95% correct upon the first review outside of the bankruptcy that got flagged due to a common name. Luckily discussing with the Seller’s agent we quickly found this was for another person(s) and the issue was dropped. First American Title caught it even before I could reach out to them and updated the policy and sent it out immediately for review. At the end of the day all checks and balances where completed by the title company and real estate agents involved and everything turned out just fine and the buyer closed on the property. As for the buyers viewpoint everything seemed fine. I would like to address the issue with how this complaint was handled by the seller though. It is my understanding that the level of yelling and disrespect within First American Title place of business by the Seller was a bit extreme. We are all adults and should have a level of professionalism on how to act with each person with a little common respect. As I see it, the transaction closed and the seller got what they wanted for there property with no delay on any deadlines, everything turned out just fine and the First American Title team did exactly what they needed to do in regards to searching information and to correct accordingly as they find more data.

    Update: the continued unprofessionalism of this company continues. 3 weeks after closing I get a bill in the mail from my HOA. I go into the office to see why, they inform me they haven’t heard anything from the title company about the sale of our home and the names of the new owners to transfer the HOA fee to. The title company specifically has a line item charging me for facilitating the tranfer of information and money with the HOA. Utterly useless. That is how I would describe this company’s business practices. I have never had a less professional experience in my life. We worked with Allison “and her team” as she put it because she was apparently out of town while her team was “putting together” our title information, so the debacle that was our experience “couldn’t be her fault”. The information they “found” and gave to both agents on our title was 99% incorrect and it accused us of filing bankruptcy, which we never have and could have spooked our buyer because they called our agent concerned. ALL of this worry and headache could have easily been avoided had they bothered to make a phone call and verify other names and addresses before sending off the information—which was not even close to any of our information. Instead they, according to Jeff Barns who claimed to be upper management, yet later I learned from their website isn’t listed under their management section at all but is actually listed under the same status as Allison— Wonder why they would lie about that?? Jeff was totally condescending during our entire encounter with him, claimed that they “kept with their company policy”. Which apparently means they send all information without properly vetting any of it. Our agent had another title company when we first listed the house pull information and they reported nothing because they did their job and properly vetted information so we know verifying information can be done. All this to say if you want a company who doesn’t properly vet and verify information, and then has zero remorse and takes zero accountability for their actions please go with these people. And if they would like to deny this information I would be happy to add to my Google review the recording I made of our signing where Jeff says: “we didn’t do anything wrong but I’m sorry you’re upset”. Talk about a backhanded apology that no one in their right mind would believe.

    I hate five and one start reviews because they usually don't really reflect true perfection or an utter nightmare, respectively. However, FATIC was timely, professional, had expert knowledge, was personable. They took the time to answer our questions and address our concerns, to our satisfaction. Everyone we spoke to on the phone had the same qualities. This was actually brightest spot in our entire home buying experience.
