I had a very unpleasant experience at this post office. I came in because USPS had removed my mail from my mailbox and was holding it at the post office. I gave the employee my slip, and she went to the back to locate my mail, which took about 10 minutes.
When she came back, her response felt unnecessarily defensive and disrespectful. She told me that she “wasn’t going to tell me again” and expressed frustration about people not getting their mail when their boxes are full. She also said that if it happened again, she would send the mail back.
The frustrating part is that this was my first time ever having this issue, and my first time going to the post office about it. I wasn’t aware there was a problem and was simply trying to retrieve my mail. I understand that keeping mailboxes clear is important, but there was no reason for me to be spoken to in that manner, especially when I was unfamiliar with the process.
On the other hand, another employee working at the same time was very friendly and welcoming to everyone who came in. I appreciated her professionalism.
Hopefully management can address the customer service issue because the interaction I had was completely unnecessary and left a bad impression.

I went down to the post office yesterday because we had a missing package and this isn’t the first time that it’s happened. This time we left a note on the back of the common mailbox area and I thought it had been ignored, but as it turns out a regular male carrier was off that yesterday and it wasn’t the job of the person filling in to address the problem. I ended up composing myself and listening to what the woman in charge had to say. Our regular mail carrier showed up at our door today and she was incredibly sweet. She apologized for the mixup and gave my husband the package we had been expecting. I feel very bad if I caused her any type of problem at all.

I did a change of address to my apartment complex and the mail carrier refuses to deliver my mail. I went to the post office and Misty told me that she has copies of leases all over Tyler and if you don’t live there you don’t get your mail. They don’t even hold it for you. I googled and the post office does not look at leases. My mail is no where to be found. My driver license has the address of my apartment on it. This needs to be looked into further. I have reported this to the postal police. If I have to I will go federal.

I had a passport appointment, but the power was out when I arrived. I understand this is out of staff control, but the customer service was disappointing. We weren’t given helpful guidance—just told to go elsewhere, with no suggestion to return later or check for updates.
I also had taken time off work, and there was no prior notice (text or call) about the outage. USPS should improve communication and have a backup plan for situations like this.
