Stopped by the Tioga Post Office while out on a weekend road trip, and it turned out to be one of those little stops that makes traveling through small towns so enjoyable.
The post office has a friendly, hometown feel, but what really caught my attention was the veteran display in the lobby honoring local veterans. It’s a wonderful reminder of the folks from this community who served our country, and you can tell there’s some real pride and appreciation behind it.
Sometimes the best parts of a road trip aren’t the big tourist attractions—they’re the small places and pieces of local history you happen to stumble across along the way. The Tioga Post Office is one of those stops.
A nice little piece of small-town Texas worth taking a few minutes to see if you’re passing through.

As a United States Post Office serving the American people, every location should be prepared to assist families shipping packages to our military men and women serving around the world.
Unfortunately, I was unable to mail my package because the staff did not know how to process a military APO or FPO address. Instead of asking for assistance, I was made to feel as though I had done something wrong, even though I have successfully shipped to this same address on multiple occasions.
I left without being able to send my package.
Supporting those who serve our country is more than something we say. It should be reflected in the service we provide. Every postal employee should know how to process military mail or be willing to ask for help when needed.
Our service members deserve better. So do their families. Do better.

I came in late in the day on a Friday and was helped immediately. I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking at first for but the postwoman went to the back and quickly found what I needed. She was so kind and gave me advice for an easier shipment next time. Very good service!

Post master is very helpful. For a small town they seem to get a lot of mail. I saw her deal with a really bi#$h at the counter. Don't know if I would have been that patient.
