I visited the United States Postal Service office today around 11:50 AM and was disgusted by what I saw. There was a line stretching all the way to the door, yet one of the three employees — a male clerk with curly hair — completely abandoned his post and walked outside for several minutes to inspect repairs being done to his personal car right there on the postal parking lot. This is a government agency, paid for by taxpayers, and this employee felt comfortable leaving customers waiting while he handled his private business during work hours. This level of laziness and disrespect is completely unacceptable. I expect better from the United States Postal Service.

I am extremely frustrated with the level of service provided by the Encino Ledge Post Office. This location has developed a reputation for poor customer service, lack of accountability, and an apparent inability to resolve ongoing issues affecting its customers. Today was simply the latest example. I received a key for a parcel locker, only to open the locker and find it completely empty. My package is now missing, and I am left once again trying to figure out what happened with no clear path to resolution. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident. Missing mail, delayed packages, and delivery issues have become far too common. Even more frustrating is the fact that the post office rarely, if ever, answers its phone. Customers are left with no way to obtain information, report problems, or receive assistance without taking time out of their day to visit in person. The most concerning issue is the complete lack of accountability. When mail goes missing, there seems to be no urgency to investigate, communicate with customers, or provide meaningful solutions. Residents are expected to simply accept that their mail may disappear and that no one will take responsibility. The Postal Service is entrusted with delivering important documents, medications, purchases, and personal correspondence. Customers should not have to wonder whether their mail will arrive, whether parcel lockers will actually contain their packages, or whether anyone will answer the phone when a problem occurs. The service at Encino Ledge has fallen well below reasonable expectations. Leadership needs to address the recurring issues with missing mail, improve communication, ensure employees are properly handling parcel locker deliveries, and establish accountability when mistakes occur. Customers deserve reliability, responsiveness, and basic customer service—none of which have been consistently provided at this location.

Mail pick-up window. Terrible service, got here before 9:00, they helped one person, and closed the door and by 9:30 they still didn't help the second person.

Came in on a Tuesday afternoon, had a long line but didn’t have to wait too long maybe 7 mins. Plenty of staff. Thomas was nice and efficient. Bring your own pen because they do not have any at the station so you can pre-fill out things before getting up to the counter. Have a pretty big parking lot. Now have signs that say pricing has changed flat rate due to Transportation cost.

I showed up today at 12:40 with my special needs daughter for a passport appointment. I previously confirmed that this location provided passport photo services as well. I received both an email and text reminder about the appointment, so I know they had my contact info. When we showed up today, a gentleman in line heard me asking my sweet Ruthie whether she was going to smile for her picture, and informed me that he got a call this morning because the camera was broken at the facility. He was advised to get the photo made elsewhere before coming in. I asked an employee, and she confirmed that the camera was still not functioning. She spoke to another employee who seemed to be a manager. He told me to run to Walgreens, get her photo made, and come back. I pointed out that it was already 12:45 and they closed at 1. He said, “We won’t close on you, ma’am.” So, I raced to Walgreens, and the poor employee there struggled to get a photo with Ruth’s eyes open. We raced back, arriving by 1:09, and an employee was pulling the gate closed. He told me they were closed. I informed him that the gentleman told me to hurry back. He refused to listen to me. I asked him to please check with the gentleman in the first booth. He just kept saying, “We’re closed, ma’am” over and over like he couldn’t hear me. I informed him again that I was told to come back. “Was he just lying to me,” I asked. He wouldn’t answer me. I’m so upset. Why wasn’t I called this morning? Why wasn’t I just asked to reschedule? Why doesn’t anyone care about how difficult this is for a special needs person and their caregiver. This was unacceptable!
