They refused to provide him with a proof of delivery after he went to the office and informed them of the situation. He was told he would receive a follow up phone call this evening since an investigation would need to be conducted. We are fully expecting a call before the end of this week since forgery is a serious federal offense.

The logistics of securely transporting millions of parcels each day is staggering. My package was misplaced by a new hire (no big deal, just remember that a fist is abuse but an open hand is correction). Mr. Madhu took my initial claim and stayed in touch with me during the entire process. The Postmaster, Mr. Rapp, personally called to make sure I had received my package. (I got it, Sir, and noticed you guys fixed the broken parcel locker, thank you!) Side commentary- In 51 years on this planet I have never had a package lost in the mail. I was not upset, and while the package was important to me- these things happen. These guys must face a constant barrage of negativity because just my little bit of positivity seemed to be the only time anyone had ever heard such things... and I'm not known as a particularly bubbly person. This is a good little Post Office. They are growing very, very quickly. They work hard; have a little bit of grace for these cats.

These ongoing issues have caused significant inconvenience and loss of mail.

Not only its number was taken, but also the paper residue needs to be manually washed off. Opening someone else's mail is a federal crime (a felony) under 18 U.S. Code § 1702, called Obstruction of Correspondence, punishable by fines or up to five years in prison, even if done accidentally or out of curiosity.
