  I am posting this review only after giving The UPS Store #6125 in Park Lakes an opportunity to address this matter directly and receiving no meaningful response. On July 8, 2026, my brother purchased printed U.S. passport photos from this location. The photograph that was taken, printed, and sold to him showed him smiling with his mouth open and teeth visible. Current U.S. Department of State passport photo requirements state that the applicant must face the camera with a neutral expression or acceptable smile, with the mouth closed. The State Department also identifies unacceptable photographs as the leading reason passport applications are placed on hold. This was not simply a photograph that my brother later decided he did not like. It was a specialized passport photo service purchased for a specific purpose. When my brother returned to the store to have the issue corrected, staff relied on the fact that he had looked at the photograph and said it was okay. That is not a reasonable response to the issue. His approval of his appearance in a photograph is not the same as verification that the photograph complies with federal passport requirements. He was the customer, not the passport photo professional. The entire reason for paying a business for this service is to rely on its advertised expertise. More concerning, staff reportedly stated that they had asked him twice during the original session to stop smiling. If that account is accurate, then staff were aware that his expression presented a compliance issue before the photograph was printed. Yet the photograph was still printed, sold, and provided to him as a passport photo. When he returned, staff did take another photograph and provided the corrected image digitally. We appreciated the retake, but that did not provide the product he originally purchased: printed passport photographs. He was instead left to arrange and pay for printing himself. He was also advised that obtaining another printed set could require paying approximately $17 again. This is not, and has never been, a dispute over $17. The issue is whether a business can charge a customer for a specialized service, provide a product that does not satisfy the published requirements for that service, and then shift the responsibility and remaining cost of correcting the problem back to the customer. I contacted the store and gave management an opportunity to resolve this privately. I requested a very simple remedy: provide the compliant printed passport photos that were originally purchased or refund the passport photo fee. I also asked management to address the training issue so another customer would not encounter the same problem. Weeks have now passed, and I have received no response from management addressing my complaint. At this point, I am documenting the experience publicly because the store was given an opportunity to cure the issue and chose not to respond. For customers considering passport photo services here, I would strongly recommend independently verifying that your photograph meets the U.S. Department of State requirements before leaving the store, regardless of the fact that you are paying for a professional passport photo service.
