I scheduled an appointment online 4 days prior. Even with an appointment, you might have to wait in line to get to a clerk to let them know you have an appt. (I think.) There was not a line on a Wednesday at 9:15 am. A friendly woman with braids helped us promptly. I had all required documents already prepared before the appointment, including the check for the application fee. This made it all go smoothly. After she gathered the paperwork and took payment, she had us step into the hallway next to the PO Boxes to take the passport photo. We were probably in and out in 15 minutes. This is also my local post office for regular mail and packages. I have never had a bad experience here, even during the busy holidays. BUT one time I did come on a Saturday one time and it was closed for a lunch break (1:00-1:30?), which is silly because they are open 9-2 Saturday.
