I have been a real estate agent in the Houston area for over three years, and I’ve NEVER experienced such poor customer service from a title company. The service and communication from the escrow officer/the office manager, Irene, was absolutely beyond unprofessional. Irene’s behavior was particularly shocking—rude, dismissive, and even resorting to raising her voice at us & hanging us the phone on us. She should not be in the position she holds, given the way she handles customers.
On the day of closing, when our file required urgent attention due to numerous changes, Irene told me and my clients she was “too busy” to tend to our file. This level of negligence is unacceptable in any professional setting, especially when it involves such an important transaction as buying a home.
Also, during the entirety of the transaction there was zero communication from the escrow officer to my clients. We had to call the office each time to receive a response & let me note that EVERY time we called someone gave us a different answer than the last person.
After closing, when I attempted to address my feelings and concerns with Irene, I was met with laughter and told that my feelings were invalid. This level of negligence and disrespect is unacceptable in any professional setting.
If you’re considering purchasing a Brightland home, as a real estate agent, I strongly urge you to fight for your right to use a different title company. You are not required to use the one they suggest, even though they might try to make you think otherwise. The people at this office are unprofessional and should be avoided.
