Went to pick up a package. Parking was free and easy to find. The staff were all very polite and helpful. The building itself is very pretty. Was out in less than 10 minutes.

No free parking (of course) and guards made me walk around the outside of the building to use another entrance for absolutely no understandable reason. Postal staff was quick once I finally made it inside, past the metal detectors, but I wish I had just gone to another office...

This is Exhibit A as to why people are doing more on the USPS website than going into an acutal post office. I am unsure how long their system has been down, but a lady was really upset when they announced that it was down again and it would take 15 minutes to reboot (it took 45min). And to make things more complicated, it was a CASH ONLY location because of their system being down.
I had no problem with cash only, but it made waiting 30 minutes to purchase stamps a waste of time because there was only one person manning the register area and weighing the packages. This is an ineffective way to handle a post office inside a federal building, especially around the holidays. There should be at least 3 people who can handle the workload, at least! (2 in the front and 1 person in the back)
I really hope my package arrives in a decent time since I pre-paid for 2 day delivery.
But I do have to rave for the employee working there in front, she never lost her cool (at least I could not notice it) and tried her best to keep going even with exhausted people. She even allowed a person cut back into line when he left to get some cash for his transaction.
