Staff is friendly but I left work early on a Thursday to make it to the post office to pick up a package. It was 4:05 and they were already closed despite hours being listed as 4:30.

My experience with the Del Rio Post office has not been good.
On Thursday May 28, 2026 I was expecting some live plants to be delivered. They were shipped on Friday May 22, 2026 by Priority Mail. Took six days to get here. At 6 pm Thursday I checked the tracking status and was shocked to see that the Carrier had returned the live plants to the sender because recipient had moved and left no forwarding address. We have been receiving mail and packages. Today, Friday I talked to a Postal supervisor. He first told me the item was returned because there was an ACTIVE FORWARDING REQUEST. If there was an active forwarding request why was the item not delivered to the address on the forwarding request (my son's house). I said there was not and asked him to show me the request. He left and came back with a paper that said the forwarding request had expired May 7, 2026. He apologized and admitted that the carrier messed up. Passing the buck. He said I could file a claim. There is no option to file a claim for a Post Office screw up. Also, the person filing claim must have the original receipt.
On Feb. 23, 2026 I completed a mail forwarding request form with a start date of Monday March 9, 2026 and hand delivered it to the post office. Mail person behind the counter accepted the form and said it would be processed. On Thursday March 5, 2026 a item I needed was scheduled for delivery that day. When it did not show up I looked at the tracking and it said the item was being redirected/forwarded. A second item was scheduled for delivery on Friday March 6, 2026. Tracking said it was out for delivery. Did not show up. On Monday March 9, 2026 I went to the post office and spoke with a supervisor. Showed him a copy of my forwarding request. He said oh yea I know where your packages are. He retrieved the items for me and mentioned something about a "ding bat" person, his words, being confused when the items were mistakenly forwarded prior to the official start date. A third item that tracking said was out for delivery on Monday March 9, 2026 was never delivered. On Wednesday March 11, 2026 the carrier left a letter in my mailbox. I drove to the post office and talked to a different person (supervisor?). He could not give me an answer why a letter was not forwarded. He looked and found my third package and said it was suppose to be forwarded. I would not depend on the Del Rio Post office to forward your mail.

Mail is never delivered. Will mark delivered and Mia is lost happens with every order. No faith I. The mail service. Very frustrated. No point in using them. Buy things you can physically pick ip from stores. Mail system is a failure.

Literally the same experience as the other reviews. Absolutely ridiculous how rude these ladies are. Who is the Post Master? Do they usually run unopposed here? This is the best we got?? Our military and LE deserves better!

I stopped by just to pick up some express mail boxes. Because people in the parking lot were slow I got inside at just a few minutes past closing time. There were still 3 people at the counter. A man was standing at the door with it locked. I asked if I could just simply grab a box to go. He yelled at me that it was after closing time and they were closed. I said I realize that but I just need a box. I asked very nicely. He again yelled at me as he pulled the curtains closed and refused to speak directly to me just repeating that they’re closed and walked away. Extremely rude. This is the 3rd time I’ve been in this post office and that man is always extremely rude!!! Not ever going back there!!!
