I went to return an item, and the receipt clearly stated that the employee should scan the code and handle the process. When I approached the counter, I was assisted by a worker (a woman with long braids) who was not wearing any visible identification, so I could not get her name. After I showed her the code, she responded in a rude manner, saying “I don’t speak English,” and without giving me any opportunity to explain myself—even with the help of a translator—she simply called the next customer and ignored me completely. I tried to open a translation app to communicate, but she did not allow me the time to do so. Her attitude was disrespectful, unprofessional, and discriminatory. As a customer, I believe everyone deserves to be treated with respect, regardless of the language they speak. I would also like to mention that there is another employee at this location (an American gentleman) who, even though he does not speak Spanish, is always patient and allows customers the time to communicate. Unfortunately, he was not there today. I kindly request that this situation be taken seriously, as individuals with this type of attitude should not be working in customer service. The diversity of customers is a reality, and respect should always be a priority.
