That all being true and said, something is up with the broader USPS and we have definitely seen issues with delivery in 2026 across the country, including long delivery times and outright lost mail. I brought in a package that had originally been shipped to me through USPS with a prepaid return label provided by the company. The package contained a lithium battery. The manager, Tiffany, told me the package could not be mailed because it needed to be labeled as hazardous material. I understand that USPS has regulations regarding lithium batteries, and I appreciate the importance of following safety rules. My frustration was not with the policy itself, but with the lack of explanation and customer service. Instead of taking the time to explain what my options were or why the original shipment was accepted but the return could not be, I felt dismissed and left without any guidance. I then took the same package to UPS. They were familiar with the shipping requirements, accepted the package, and even commented that they frequently hear complaints about the Bastrop Post Office. They handled the situation professionally and made the process simple. I believe customers deserve clear communication and respectful service, especially when shipping regulations can be confusing. A few extra minutes to explain the process would have made a significant difference in my experience.
