Unclear about the hours this location is open! It states 5:00, but lights were off by 4:50! I understand it's only 10 minutes until closing, but for someone like me who has set hours and left work about 20 minutes early to make it to the post office, this is wrong! Unprofessional and thoughtless!

My grandparents put in applications for hardship delivery as they're in their 80s and have multiple disabilities that make is unsafe for them to walk to their mailbox. This has been going on for over TWO YEARS now and they are still not getting any help. In those 2 years, my grandpa has fallen into the ditch next to the mailbox, wandered into the street to check the mail without looking either way (he has Alzheimer's and is hard of hearing), both grandparents have fallen trying to get up or down the steps to the house even with a handrail, cane or other walking assistance while holding the mail, and more. All of this could have been avoided if the Postmaster Shay and their delivery driver Charlie did their jobs to process the paperwork and help the elderly and disabled. After hearing about their most recent issue of turning in the papers AGAIN for the delivery to be made to their front door, I finally contacted USPS customer service on their behalf. The customer service rep, Rodney, was incredible to work with and once the matters were resolved, he said it shouldn't happen again. He also confirmed that we could take down the mailbox at the road since it was such a hazard for my grandpa with Alzheimer's wandering to the road when he saw the mailbox and "everything was taken care of." A few weeks ago, July 22nd, Shay and Charlie came out to their house to ask if they could move the mailbox to the utility pole by their driveway, which is down a few steps and on uneven ground. When my grandma said they aren't physically able to make it there safely, they said "well can't it be placed on the end of the porch here," which still requires them to walk down steps, specifically the same steps they have both fallen down. Shay's argument was they have to count their steps (which they are paid for) and that she has to think about the well being of their delivery people. It is now July 6th and they still have not received any mail since the day Shay came to their house. USPS is more than "just mail," for them, its also how they get some medications delivered, one of which they have needed during this time. My grandparents have made every reasonable effort to follow USPS procedures, provide documentation, and communicate their needs. The continued denial of safe access to mail delivery is discriminatory against the disabled, dangerous, and unlawful under federal disability protections.

This is one of the WORST post offices in Memphis. It sucks that it’s the only one in Millington. My grandmother has lived out here for 7 years and almost every time she gets a package delivered by USPS (especially if it’s supposed to be delivered on a Saturday) it is always marked as “no access to delivery location”. There are no animals out here and the gate is always open for deliveries. The carrier just doesn’t want to walk into the apartment to deliver the package and leaves it for the next carrier to deliver. Causing important packages to be delivered days later. I’ve recently been getting my mail delivered over here and 4 out of 6 deliveries have been marked as no access or non deliverable. That’s crazy. I just filed a complaint with USPS, because whoever is the carrier for this neighborhood needs to be put on another route or something. The whole office/staff needs to be investigated due to all of their complaints.
