- DSDaria SmithAug 20, 20263.0Note that closures happen strictly at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.; they are also closed daily between 1-2 p.m. If you have packages in a poly mailer, you can drop them off in the chute right outside the main office, but boxes are too large to fit. Very thin poly mailers will fit in the USPS box outside the building (open 24 hours). The chute is open for drop-off (for packages with a label) until 5 p.m. I purchased a label printer/labels and print my own labels, and take care of measuring and weighing my packages at home. If you do need to pay for postage, the limit is 5 packages. All I ever do is drop packages off to be scanned. The main worker doesn't like to be inconvenienced. I had a small box with the label already attached at 4:01 p.m. that wouldn't fit through the chute in the lobby, and the worker wouldn't let me drop it off to be scanned the next day. They were with a customer until 4:08 p.m. who needed to pay for postage. The worker is very inconvenienced when having to add postage to anything, let alone when people drop off packages already ready to go, simply needing a scan. Not a pleasant experience.
- MPMaddison ParkerJun 22, 20261.0I ship out packages regularly for my business and I have never had a problem dropping packages at any post offices across the state aside from this one. They wouldn’t take my 3 boxes, 12x12x12 because they said they were too big. I also went another time and just needed them to help tape a prepaid label on and they wouldn’t do it. I’ve never been to a post office this unhelpful. Extremely frustrating considering I live 5 minutes from this post office. Second time I’ve had a bad experience here. Won’t be going back. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth about people on sullivans island. First they tried to not let people on public beaches during Covid… can’t use their post office… like get out of the south and go back north with your attitudes. You’re not wanted here.

I switched to this post office about 5 years ago and will never go back to the other mad house post offices in Mt. Pleasant! Thanks Mike for being so nice!
