  Customer Service: 0/5 | Professionalism: 0/5 I wanted to save time before making a quick trip to Staples, so I called the James Island store to see if they had a product in stock. The drive from my house took 11 minutes. When I walked into the store, I was still on hold. As I entered, there was an employee behind the counter wearing earbuds and clearly having a personal phone conversation based on what she was discussing. She continued her conversation while I stood in front of her waiting for assistance. I asked, "Are your phones not ringing? I've been on hold for the last 11 minutes." She replied that the phone hadn't rung. While looking for the product in the back of the store, I decided to test it myself. Instead of selecting the general store option, I chose the Party City department. Over the loudspeaker, I heard, "Party City, you have a phone call." The phone rang over and over with no answer. I tried again, this time selecting the Tech Department. Once again, the overhead announcement played, the phone rang repeatedly, and no one answered. As I was leaving, I asked another employee why no one was answering the phones. He told me they were "very busy with customers." The problem was, I was the only customer in the store. Meanwhile, the first employee was still on her personal call, now walking through the empty aisles appearing to look busy. When I pointed out that there were no other customers in the store, he continued trying to justify why the phones weren't being answered. This experience perfectly explains why customer service has become such a problem. Ignoring customers—both on the phone and in the store—while employees carry on personal conversations is unacceptable. If this is the level of service being provided, it's no surprise the company is struggling. You lost my business.

  The transgender man working there rude as hell. Needs to be fired. Will be calling corporate. Nice store tho, horrible customer service

  This is the worst staples you can ever go to. They should be shut down. They do not answer their phones ever. They do NOT check ipostal packages. I have very important documents that need to be sent in a timely manner. This is happening on numerous occasions. My package will sit there for a week and no one checks it in. The manager is even worst and doesn't care. Ipostal needs to remove this location. They are absolutely horrible.
