  I wish I could give Liz Bortner 100 stars, because five simply does not come close to reflecting the level of service, kindness, professionalism, and genuine care she provided me. I am in California and recently found myself in an incredibly stressful situation after my client accidentally left her cell phone behind at a nearby hotel in York, Pennsylvania. By the time I realized what had happened, I was already back across the country. I called The UPS Store hoping someone might be willing to help me figure out how on earth I could get this phone safely returned to California overnight. That is when I reached Liz, the manager, and I can sincerely say she was an absolute miracle. I never even had the opportunity to meet Liz in person. Every single part of this was handled over the phone, which somehow makes what she did even more extraordinary. From thousands of miles away, Liz immediately made me feel like I had someone on the ground who genuinely cared about solving the problem. She did not treat me like just another customer or another transaction. She treated my situation as though it personally mattered to her. Liz went so far above and beyond anything I could have reasonably expected. She helped coordinate everything necessary to get my client’s phone recovered, packaged, shipped, and sent overnight back to California. She was incredibly patient, communicative, reassuring, accommodating, detail-oriented, and proactive throughout the entire process. Every time there could have been another obstacle, Liz seemed to already be thinking three steps ahead about how to solve it. What could have turned into an absolute nightmare became completely manageable because of her. There are people who simply do their jobs well, and then there are people like Liz who remind you what exceptional customer service actually looks like. She took ownership of a situation that was not her responsibility, helped a complete stranger calling from across the country, and went out of her way to make sure absolutely everything went smoothly from beginning to end. I cannot adequately express how grateful I am to her. Liz, THANK YOU. Truly. You were my miracle in Pennsylvania that day. You gave me an enormous amount of peace of mind during a very stressful situation, and your willingness to go the extra mile meant more than you probably realize. The UPS Store is incredibly fortunate to have someone like Liz representing their company. Employees and managers like her are the reason customers remember a business, recommend it to everyone they know, and remain loyal for years. If corporate leadership ever reads these reviews, please recognize this woman. She is an extraordinary representation of what customer service, leadership, compassion, and professionalism should look like. If you ever need anything shipped in York, PA, this is the location to call, and if you are fortunate enough to have Liz helping you, know that you are in exceptionally good hands. Thank you again, Liz, from the bottom of my heart. You turned an impossible situation from California into a successful overnight shipment across the country, entirely over the phone, and I will never forget how incredibly helpful you were. 100/10. Truly one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had.

  Emely at the front desk wasn’t very helpful, and was a little rude towards the end of our interaction, even rolling her eyes. At the end she told me how I could’ve saved money on that same purchase, which she could’ve told me 30 seconds prior before I purchased the item. When I said that would’ve been helpful to know before, she just said “oh well, next time”

  Liz was so kind and so professional. Helped me shipped home made cookies to a friend. She wrapped them and boxed them with care and did her best to keep them cool as long as possible before putting them on the truck. I am so grateful. Thanks Liz!
