I've been going to the State College Post Office multiple times a week for the past two years, and I genuinely do not understand the negative reviews. I've lived in several places, and this is by far one of the best post offices I've used.
The employees are consistently friendly, patient, and efficient. Even when there's a line, it's usually because they are helping patrons who are not prepared or need extra assistance. I have watched the employees handle some pretty incompetent people with an incredible amount of patience and professionalism while still keeping the line moving as quickly as possible. A lot of the complaints seem to be about policies that are not the employees' fault. For example, people get frustrated that they have to pack their own packages and use their own tape, but that is standard practice. It ensures you are responsible for what's in the box and prevents disputes about the contents later. Blaming the postal clerks for following USPS policies does not make much sense.
I really appreciate how hard they work, and every experience I have had has been positive. The staff deserves far more credit than they get!

They claimed the package was delivered but I didn’t see it anywhere in my neighborhood. This happened THREE times in one year. I lived in so many places, including NYC, and have never seen a USPS branch make such mistake so frequently. Not to say this is a small town and it shouldn’t be that hard. They should consider FIRING some delivering staff. Some are very unprofessional.

The man on the phone is incredibly rude, makes excuses and doesn’t give answers to simple questions. I’d appreciate you owning up to your mistakes rather than blaming it on your co workers or telling me basically it’s my fault you guys lose my packages. If you order from a reselling website they’ll tell you to request a refund from the person you bought from despite it not being their fault at all. Very unprofessional, needs to work on his attitude problems before he comes across the wrong one to mess with. Do your job!

There’s a gentleman who works here, Brendan (Brennen), who went WAY ABOVE and beyond helping me out with an incorrectly delivered package. It was completely my fault but he worked with me to get the issue resolved in a timely and effective manner. Unbelievable customer service . 5 star service. I pray his managers see this and commend him for his excellent work.
