⭐ Extremely Disappointing Experience at Norwood Post Office – Employee Doug
I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with the way I was treated today at the Norwood Post Office, particularly by an employee named Doug.
I came to the post office to purchase two money orders for approximately $3,200 each to pay my property taxes. I was prepared with the full amount in cash and expected a normal, professional transaction.
From the beginning, Doug’s attitude was extremely unpleasant. First, he told me that he did not have the required form. Then, when I brought the cash, suddenly it became a problem. He repeatedly made frustrated sounds and displayed an attitude as if I was inconveniencing him simply by asking him to perform a service offered by the post office.
What made the situation even worse was his refusal to count the smaller bills. He specifically told me that he was not going to count the small bills, which I found completely unacceptable and extremely unprofessional. I have never experienced a customer-service employee make a customer feel so unwelcome for simply bringing cash to conduct a legitimate transaction.
After counting the larger bills, Doug then told me that he didn’t have the form after all and that I would have to go to another post office.
At that point, I was extremely frustrated and disappointed. If the Norwood Post Office could not provide the service because the necessary forms were unavailable, I should have been told that clearly from the beginning—not after I brought thousands of dollars in cash and stood there while an employee displayed an obvious attitude and made me feel like I was bothering him.
The way Doug behaved made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable inside the branch, almost as though he believed he personally owned the place and could decide whether or not he wanted to serve a customer.
I am not complaining because I was denied a service due to circumstances outside the employee’s control. I am complaining because of the attitude, disrespect, lack of professionalism, and the way I was treated throughout the interaction.
I strongly recommend that management review what happened and address this employee’s customer-service behavior. Customers should not leave a USPS branch feeling embarrassed, disrespected, or unwelcome—especially when they are simply trying to conduct a legitimate transaction.
Very disappointing experience. I expected much better from the Norwood Post Office and from USPS.
