I moved back here a month ago after being gone for 20 years, and I was so excited to come home. I went to forward my address after having trouble completing it online because the app wasn’t working properly (tried multiple times and paid for it). When I got there, I explained that I had never received the barcode she was asking for. Instead of helping me figure out what to do next, she kept insisting that I needed a barcode. I kept trying to ask for further help, steps to take etc. but she wasn’t having it. At that point, I tried to end the conversation and leave. As I was walking toward the exit, she continued talking loudly at me, repeatedly telling me I needed a barcode that I had already explained I never received. The store was empty, and the whole interaction felt unnecessarily hostile and embarrassing. The experience left me really upset. I’ve noticed a lot of unnecessary rudeness from people in places like post offices, grocery stores, and pharmacies in this neighborhood which I was told was a better part of town. Most people are just trying to get through their day and take care of basic tasks, and a little patience and kindness can make a huge difference. Really tired of people in customer service roles acting like this. We’re adults.

Always understaffed, takes forever, no cell service in the building as you're staring at the line not moving. Postal carrier just needs to go do something else, used to deliver packages to our house but now won't because mail box is 0.5 miles from house, which is wrong. Often just puts boxes on top of the mailbox for them to get stolen.

They helped me track down 4 pieces of very important mail that had the wrong address on it.

This post office is open Saturdays 10am to 3pm!! It’s next to Safeway and the driveway is easy to miss. It has P.O. Boxes, a self serve kiosk, and counter service. On a Saturday!

Do not use their "priority express" for anything important! 4 days later and no one knows where it is or when it might be delivered! The system is treating arrival at "portland outbound" like it was the last stop they are responsible for! All of their customer service resources are fake or broken. The only people they'll have to speak with you will be months after the fact and telling you why they aren't liable for whatever bad thing they let happen. Go anywhere but usps, seriously
