I had a great experience at the post office today. I came in to mail almost 300 letters for my work and Kristy helped put postage on all the envelopes and was super nice and helpful.

I had a poor expirence fingerprinting here. My prints aren't easy to get, I'm not exactly sure why that is but the way they're conducted at the post office taxes everyone's time (including the clerks here). They were very patient at first, but after around 20 minutes I was told that my fingers were too sweaty and wouldn't be able to read. So I took a break came back and after the first failure I was told to try again tomorrow. It felt bad to get turned away after that first try, I personally felt as if I was hindrance to the employee there than anything else which sucked. I instead decided to pay another company to do them and finished them the same day at a ups store.

We recently had an issue with our mailbox lock where the key would not go in at all. After inspecting it more closely, the lock cylinder was actually coming out of the mechanism, so this was clearly a damaged lock — not a lost key or user error. When we went to the post office, we spoke with a supervisor named Noel. Unfortunately, the interaction was disappointing. Instead of assessing the situation, we were told to “read the manual” and that lock maintenance is the customer’s responsibility, without any clear explanation of what that actually means or what policy supports that. We were still required to pay $40 for a lock change, even though the lock itself was physically failing. There was no attempt to distinguish between a broken USPS lock and a typical rekey request. I understand policies exist, but customer service matters especially when the issue involves being unable to access your mail. A more professional and solution-oriented approach would have made a big difference.
