If it were possible we would rate minus five, usps customer service it would be much more accurate to call it customer disservice. After vacation we went to the sylvania post office to pick up our mail as we have since we've had our po box. First we were lied to and they said someone picked up our mail then they told us all our mail had been returned, all our mail. We asked didn't they have our po box contact information, after less than a minute they returned with their filed document with our telephone number and email address, so the sylvania post office customer service doesn't call, text or email the customer, they return all the customer's mail, this is how they take care and treat their customers, this is an insult, a punch in the gut, a knife in the back, cursed. How could anyone trust the post office after that treatment of the customer? So after we posted on social media the usps called us today, which confirms they have our po box telephone number and email address, they apparently wanted to give us some lame excuses reasons for their choice of sending back all our mail instead of calling us first of which we would have reminded them my wife told them before we left that we were on vacation, as we have done since we've had our po box, apparently this is their customer service to not call and to send back all the po box mail and only call after a social media post on how they treated us one of their customers. We recommend, Mail Vault Sylvania 5834 Monroe St, their customer service from employees such as Lou, is amiable, congenial and helpful. Their facilities easily accessible from Alexis or Monroe Sts, ample parking, handicap access, clean, multiple services offered and available, we are looking forward to a excellent and long client-provider relationship with Mail Vault Sylvania. Sincerely, Ronald&Marta Smieszek

I would like to say the service at this office is fabulous! I’ve been working with Michelle to get an address changed. She worked with me to get this done. She returned my call when she said she would. Kuddo’s to Michelle. Thanks so much, Linda Nieckarz Bair

EDIT (March 2026): Enough is enough. Went to close my PO Box and they changed the lock on me. Grabbed my mail. Have them the keys and left. They are so bad that I’m just not going to have a mailbox or anything with them. I’d rather deal with the hassle of not being able to receive mail than continue to have to deal with this incapable, unprofessional, and useless branch. I’ll be seeing them in court. EDIT (February 18, 2026): I received another call from the branch today regarding my ongoing issues, and the tone was again combative and unprofessional. Instead of working toward a solution, the conversation quickly became adversarial. This continues the pattern of rude and defensive behavior I have consistently experienced at this location. I have lived in this area for almost 7 years and never had issues until recently. After leaving a note asking my carrier to properly take back refused mail, my delivery was stopped because the carrier claimed they felt “unsafe.” Instead of resolving the situation professionally, I was told I could use a PO Box — which I’ve been using ever since. Since opening the PO Box, I have repeatedly received mail for the previous box holder despite notifying the branch multiple times. The issue has never been corrected. Most recently, I received an Informed Delivery notification for a jury summons that never arrived. When I went to the branch to resolve it, I was told “there’s nothing we can do.” I arrived before closing and was in the middle of a conversation with supervisor Kevin Roberts when he walked away. When he returned at 5:30, he raised his voice and instructed staff to close the gate while I was still seeking assistance. I also attempted to return a call from Matt, the Postmaster, but was unable to reach him, and staff informed me he had already left for the day. Mistakes happen. What’s unacceptable is the dismissive attitude and lack of accountability when customers are trying to resolve serious mail issues — especially when legal mail like a jury summons is involved. Professionalism and basic customer service should not be this difficult to receive.
