I ordered **next-day blueprints from Staples on Sunday night** expecting exactly that—next-day service.
On Monday, I received a call saying they were out of ink and that the ink should arrive Monday. On Tuesday, I was told the ink had arrived, but now the blueprint machine was down and the orders were being sent to an off-site printing location.
I followed up again on Friday—**five days after placing a next-day order—and the prints still were not ready.** I was told they might be available today, or possibly tomorrow.
I want to be clear: **I do not view this as an employee problem. This is a corporate/service-system problem.** The employees can only work with the equipment, supplies, and backup processes Staples provides them.
If Staples advertises and accepts an order for **NEXT-DAY blueprints**, that should represent a commitment from Staples to the customer. If a store runs out of ink or a machine goes down, there should be a corporate backup system capable of fulfilling that commitment without turning next-day service into five or six days.
Equipment breaks. Supplies occasionally run out. I understand that. But those are operational issues that Staples should plan for—not problems that should simply be passed along to the customer.
**Five days later for a next-day blueprint order is unacceptable.**

I had to have items enlarged so I could quilt them on a chair and did a pretty good job. Now I want them bigger so I'll be back. It's faces of farm animals.

On one hand, I have a 1-star rating for the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. On the other, I have a 5-star rating for another employee who stepped up.
The exchange happened around 4:50 p.m. on 7/25/2026 if cameras need to be checked. I walked in with paper I wanted to purchase and have cut. Immediately, Heather threw what she had around, rolled her eyes numerous times, huffed, puffed, and had the most outrageous attitude I’ve ever seen. She said she couldn’t help me because she already had 1,000 things to cut and do.
I was so taken back by how she talked not only to me but to other customers as well. She even had a meltdown over some tape, and the customer had to do it for her. Thankfully, Chase immediately stepped in. Even without knowing much about how to do it, he helped me the best he could. I heard him ask Heather for help multiple times, and she freaked out on him each time.
I hold respect very high. I’m blown away by how disrespectfully Heather treated customers, including myself. I’m very grateful to Chase for helping me, but I still have to give the overall experience a 1-star rating. It was a mind-blowing experience. She was literally running around freaking out, and I just needed paper cut.

They’re barely holding on as a shipping center and printer. Amazon returns and the random merch bins seems to help employ at least 1-2 people and keeps them afloat and the building occupied and repaired. With everything going electronic and wireless the last 15-20 years, there’s just less call for physical gadgets that office supply stores used to sell. I mean, they have a balloon counter. So that says a lot about them just trying to diversify and survive.
