- MMMatt MigalJul 14, 20265.0I wanted to recognize one of the employees at the Fairlawn, Ohio Post Office for an act of kindness that has stayed with me ever since I witnessed it on Friday, May 15, 2026. While I was there mailing a package, an elderly gentleman came in to check his P.O. Box. The employee greeted him warmly and mentioned that she hadn't seen him in a while. He became emotional and shared that his wife of many years had recently passed away. There wasn't anything she could do to change his circumstances, but what she did next spoke volumes. She took the time to listen, asked if he had family or friends nearby to support him, and when he shared that he didn't, she simply offered her compassion, her presence, and a hug. In a world where everyone seems to be in a hurry, she reminded me how much a few minutes of genuine kindness can mean to someone who is hurting. It was one of the most sincere examples of empathy and customer service I've ever witnessed. I don't know her name, but I hope this review reaches her or her supervisor. She represents the very best of the U.S. Postal Service, and the Fairlawn community is fortunate to have someone like her serving its customers. Her kindness and humanity made a lasting impression on me, and I hope she receives the recognition she deserves. It's also worth recognizing her colleagues, who graciously stepped in to assist the other customers while she gave this gentleman the time and compassion he needed. Thank you.
