  I arrived at 4:46 PM on Friday, July 3, with approximately two dozen prepaid packages, expecting to use the retail window during the posted business hours. To my surprise, the service windows were already closed well before the advertised 5:00 PM closing time. No “emergency” note posted, nothing at all explaining the early closure. This was especially frustrating because the post office will be closed the following day for the Fourth of July holiday, making this the last opportunity to get these orders into the mail on time. My customers should be able to rely on the posted hours, particularly when timing is important and I’ve made the effort to arrive before closing. If there was an emergency or another legitimate reason for closing early, a posted notice would have been completely understood and accepted. Otherwise, closing before the posted hours is unacceptable and creates unnecessary problems for customers. I’ve sent thousands and thousands of packages through the West Hurley PO during the past 8yrs and this is the first I’ve ever encountered this unprofessional behavior. Patty and Tania would’ve NEVER done anything like this without a note. Im very disappointed in the new staff there. 👎🏻

  The woman who works behind the counter most days is so incredibly lovely. Not sure what her name is, but she is so kind and helpful!
