Closed way earlier than stated closing time. The doors were closed ay 18:42. This is unacceptable. The management of this location should be inspected

Today I had a terrible (though honestly pretty typical) experience at the post office at 215 W 104th St, New York.
We had sent an international package that was returned, so we came in to figure out what went wrong. The supervisor had an absolutely awful attitude. She took the package and refused to give it back—literally grabbed it, and when I tried to take my own package, she held onto it and wouldn’t let go. She didn’t even apologize for the fact that, under her supervision, employees don’t know the rules for accepting international shipments—and frankly, she herself seems unfamiliar with basic customer service and respectful behavior.
Moreover, I paid $35 for that international shipment, and this money has not been refunded. They took the payment, yet the package was never delivered. This is outright theft.
Yesterday I was at the same post office, and another employee yelled at me just because she didn’t want to get up from her chair to grab a nearby envelope for Priority Mail. I was honestly shocked by how aggressively she spoke to me. After I selected the “dissatisfied” face on the feedback screen, she didn’t even let me finish my transaction and skipped through the options herself.
I’m not surprised people end up swearing at the staff in this post office. The employees act like the world owes them something, and their attitude is unacceptable. Headquarters, take action!

Subject: Concern Regarding Customer Service Experience
I would like to share my recent experience at the United States Postal Service location.
While I was initially greeted politely, my experience became frustrating when I inquired about the shipping price. I was simply told that shipping is expensive, without any effort to explain options or assist in finding a more cost-effective solution.
Additionally, I asked if my package could be reinforced with extra tape for security. I was informed that tape is only available for purchase. Considering that I was already paying a high shipping fee, I found this response disappointing. Basic assistance like securing a package should be part of good customer service.
Overall, the interaction made me feel undervalued as a customer and left the impression that service was transactional rather than helpful. I believe this experience does not reflect the level of service customers should expect.
I hope this feedback is taken into consideration and that improvements can be made to ensure better customer care in the future.
Thank you for your attention.

Gentleman telling the teller off because of her disrespectful tone. I personally agree as from what you hear in the video along with other customers who’ve also dealt with the same experience. FIRE EVERYONE WORKING AT THIS BRANCH!!! They are incompetent.

I just don’t understand the nastiness of most- not all, but most- of the people behind the counter at the Cathedral Station Post Office. I dread going there every single time. There’s one absolutely lovely young woman who stands out in such stark contrast to the incredibly rude, insulting, demeaning people who are there to apparently “help” you mail out your stuff. Today one of the women working behind the counter said to me: “I don’t know why I even bothered talking ‘cause you didn’t listen”. What??!! What adult speaks that way to a fellow human being?? And then you feel like you can’t say anything back or your package will mysteriously be lost!! It’s a horrible, awful, mean place, and the people who work there who treat customers like garbage should be utterly ashamed of themselves. Karma is a thing though, so…Go to any other post office if you can- this place is really the worst of the worst. Shameful is where it starts!
