We made a passport appointment for our infant weeks in advance and when we showed up to the appointment we were informed that it was canceled without explanation or forewarning.

Every time I’ve gone to the USPS office on West 83rd Street, the experience has been the same: unmotivated staff, unfriendly interactions, and the feeling that you’re inconveniencing them simply by showing up. Employees are often watching things on their phones while working, and basic customer service seems like an afterthought. I only stop by every couple of months, so maybe I’ve been unlucky, but so far the experience has been consistently disappointing.

Beautiful building, but hostile customer service. I honestly feel bad for the people who work here. I guess misery loves company. Talking to customers nicely would go a long way for morale in general.

If you can do everything yourself for a pre paid package. All you have to do is drop it off at the window with the drop box sign. Easy and seamless.

For otherwise incompetent Lazy group of people, this is probably the worst post office. I’ve ever been to today. I went Into the post office to drop off a prepaid package and also to pay for a package to be shipped after waiting in line for 20 minutes and there were only three people in front of me. A woman came out and said our scales aren’t working. It’ll be an hour or so until they’re fixed we can’t take any packages. I did drop off the prepaid. I opened the door to where you put them and it was totally full. These are the laziest people you’ll ever run into. Avoid this post office.
