I arrived at the Camillus store promptly at 9 AM and I was the second person through the door, the customer ahead of me headed over towards computers. So I walked from the exit/entrance door straight to the cashier and I encountered a young man probably in his early 20s. Sitting with his arms folded across his chest and sitting on the counter by the register, he looked at me when I walked up to him, and he said you have to go around, indicating that I’ve walked from the door straight to the cashiers instead of going into the store and around through the maze to get back to that initial point. As I said there was no one in the store except for me in one of the customers so it’s not like I caught in line in front of someone. I looked at him and I asked him. What did you say? He said next time you have to go around. Any proceeded of all his eyes seem that I had a return for Amazon and he yelled across the store to somebody that he needed a scanner and then he just walked and took his time walking over to the customer service area going behind the counter and staying in there until someone handed him a scanner and then he came back to me. Finally, he scanned my return receipt and then took his sweet time, bagging up the one single item getting a tag, retrieving it, putting it away and then came back to me and looked up to me and said you can go now. Normally, I don’t leave that reviews, but this kid clearly should not be facing any customers and when it comes time to purchase office supplies, I may look somewhere else because why would I want to talk to this kid or anyone like him. Management made a serious error in putting him in a customer facing position.

Awful. 20 employees in the building, one person on registers to slowly tape boxes of Amazon returns while you wait in line with a 40lb office chair box. Put it right back and left without buying. This place is basically a building to take your Amazon returns to now. They are not interested in actually selling anything.

The Staples associates (Ronnie and Alex) not only provided appropriate technical support, but also recommended an upgrade to my Consumer Protection plan that saved me money. This was offered to me without pressure--I wasn't even aware that there would be financial benefit to me until it was pointed out. This is why I go to Staples!

I had a frustrating experience at Staples today. There was a long line (about 12 people) with only one cashier, which I understand can happen, but instead of keeping things moving, the cashier stopped to explain Amazon returns to someone in the middle of the line and then spent several minutes chatting with another customer about personal matters. After waiting a significant amount of time, I was finally helped, but the cashier was unnecessarily rude and gave me attitude about a missing security tag on a bag, something completely outside of my control, and even mentioned he was going to “yell at an employee.” I try to be understanding, but this felt like a lack of basic professionalism and respect for customers’ time. I hope management addresses this, as it reflects poorly on the store.
