- RBRos BMay 1, 20261.0Have you ever wondered what it would be like to mail something after the apocalypse? Wonder no more, come to the Sheepshead post office and experience it for yourself. It's a downright dystopian affair. You're not allowed inside the building, which looks like a dilapidated husk of a warehouse - the only service is through a truck outside of the station. Picking up packages? You have to go around back to the loading docks and wait until an employee finally materializes. The hours are completely arbitrary, I came by around 3pm and they were on lunch break from 3pm to 3:45pm. Based on the other reviews it looks like they dip out whenever they feel like it. Did you take time out of your workday to mail something? Tough luck, maybe they'll show up in an hour. The employees here have no respect for anyone's time. Did you want to call to check if they have your package? Well, you're out of luck on that front too. Their phone number has been not been functional for at least a decade, and there are no plans to fix it. Call the main USPS line, get a case open, and these guys will call you back if they feel like it. Good luck! The USPS is a treasured part of the United States, and it is very unfortunate they have lost funding in recent years. But this specific post office has been a disaster for much longer than that. It is one of the worst post offices in the entire city. Go literally anywhere else if you can.
