Due to a broken mailbox at my mother’s apartment, I have to travel nearly 3 hours round trip by bus and train just to pick up mail. Last Saturday, the post office was unexpectedly closed due to plumbing issues. A mail carrier told me to come back Friday and said he would inform the staff. When I returned Friday, a clerk refused to give me the mail and said pickups are only allowed on Wednesdays and Saturdays. When I tried to explain the situation, she was rude, dismissive, and unhelpful, repeatedly telling me to “look at the paper” and that she doesn’t make the rules. The lack of clear communication and poor customer service made an already difficult situation worse. Very frustrating.

Always a fast line, even when it's out the door for winter gifts. From what I can see on the outside they're one of the better managed and/or functioning locations. I go here instead of "my" location on Debevoise.
