As both a customer and a professional with many years of experience in the customer service industry, I am truly disappointed by the lack of customer service provided at this specific USPS location.
The staff is neither attentive nor helpful to customers who enter and wait for service. Instead of acknowledging and assisting customers, staff continue to disregard the growing line and focus on tasks behind the counter that could easily be completed after serving those who are waiting.
Customers are waiting 20+ minutes for services that should be completed within five minutes, including money orders, package deliveries, and payments. Rather than assisting the customer waiting in line, staff continue with behind-the-counter tasks that can wait.
USPS staff should remember that while tasks behind the window can be returned to, a customer who has entered the office and is waiting in line for service should be the number one priority.
Customers have other responsibilities to attend to. While each person's reason for being there is different, the purpose should always be to value customers and their time, not to ignore them and make them wait 20+ minutes with a line extending all the way to the entrance. This is not acceptable.
This is especially concerning when there are 3-4 staff members walking around, seemingly unoccupied. This suggests a serious need for internal monitoring and evaluation regarding task prioritization, such as register counting or other duties, which should never take precedence over serving waiting customers.
Please do better, USPS. Customers deserve timely, attentive, and respectful service.
