- JRJacqui RApr 4, 20261.0I recently moved to the Bay Shore/Brightwaters area, and as a business owner of over 12 years, building positive relationships with my local post office is extremely important to me. I typically visit another Bay Shore location, the clerk is a gem .. he’s so kind and friendly but due to their earlier closing time, I decided to try the Brightwaters Post Office for the convenience of their later hours. All of my packages are always prepaid, labeled, and ready to go. I usually bring a small volume—typically no more than 6–7 packages at a time. During one visit, I was asked to come earlier in the day, which I agreed to. However, due to the nature of running an online business, orders can come in throughout the day, so it’s not always possible to arrive earlier. On my next visit, I came in with only about 3 packages—and there was still a comment made about the number of packages I had. It was said in a joking manner along the lines of “oh, you don’t listen,” which didn’t sit right with me. I was also told I could go to another location that closes at 5:30, but as a local business owner, I don’t feel I should have to drive further out of my way to receive basic service—especially when my packages are prepaid and ready for drop-off. I’ve never experienced this at other locations, even when bringing significantly more packages. Offices like Garden City have always been professional and accommodating regardless of volume. As a small business owner who depends on reliable and respectful service, this experience did not meet the standard I’m used to. Because of this, I’ll be choosing to go to other post office locations moving forward.

- RVRobert V.Nov 10, 20252.0I lived in Brightwaters for over 15 years and was once “ Brow beaten” by Dee for bringing in about 10 tiny PRE PAID packages and was told “ You know there is a form you should fill out for multiple packages” I was like Dee, it took you about 2 minutes to scan every one…. Yes a little less attitude and some niceness would be appreciated.
