There are 2 ladies that work here and the older lady is very grumpy and unpleasant I believe her name was dawn but the younger girl working at the counter next to her is always so nice and helpful I think her name was cj She’s always so helpful when it comes to finding the stamps I want and when I have questions on international shipping

I have NEVER written a google review, because I do not ever want to criticize small businesses in the community. However, this morning, April 11, 2026 at 10:12 am I went into the Bayport Post Office to purchase stamps and mail a certified letter. When I tried to pay with a large bill the person behind the desk told me she did not have enough bills to provide me with the proper change. Having worked in retail at a young age, I asked if the drawer was not prepared the night before for customers wanting to pay cash. She told me that it was her cash drawer and she was not in yesterday and nobody had touched it. So that tells me that there is a problem not just at the desk but at a higher level as well. The Bayport Post office does not care to serve you properly. It appears that all they want to do is to provide services for only those customers that pay by credit card. The situation does not stop at this point, the clerk with the most sarcastic tone to her voice told me to have a great day as I left with unfinished business. I fortunately had business to do across the street and that small privately owned business provided me with the proper change for my transaction. The small bills allowed me to return to the Bayport Post Office for a second time in the same morning to finish the business that remained unresolved. The lack of preparation for the next business day by the Bayport Post office staff and administrators demonstrates that they don't care about the customers that actually pay their salary. When I had to respond to how my service was at this second visit this morning I pressed the lowest possible rating because not only did the Bayport Post Office waist my time (then and now), but the woman behind the counter told me in the most sarcastic tone of voice, filled with insincerity "to have a wonderful day." Apparently, my time is not respected by the Bayport Post Office. Nor were my needs addressed with professionalism and sincerity. The Bayport Post office needs to own the fact that they have failed to serve the public, by excluding those patrons who want to pay with cash. What they are saying to all of us is don't bother coming to our post office we are not here to serve you and we do not respect your time.

Disrespectful and condescending. The girl at the window is fine but management is horrible.
