They left a note saying to come pick up our mail due to the mailbox being too full. The note says they close at 6. My partner gets there at 5:35 and they tell them they’re closed. Don’t advertise you close at 6 then?

Well it's finally happened, I think this is my first ever two-star review. I was waiting for medicine and didn't hear the doorbell so I missed the delivery. It was important and somewhat urgent, so I waited until the delivery was hopefully back in the building and went to the post office. I got there what I hoped was late enough to have my package back but a half hour before closing, but it looks like they closed a few minutes (under 5) after I got there. I get in line and it's pretty long, so I was disappointed to have a long wait, but I needed the medications for my wife, so I waited. Then a male staff member started shouting from the front counter, "ma'am you're last in line." Trying to understand who he was talking to as the others in line did also. After several repetitions and the audience or people in line that have become the audience started guessing that it was maybe because I came in as a male with a goatee and he was perhaps speaking to the lady in front of me like she was supposed to tell me that she was last or something, it was a bit confusing. I shouted back I'm just here for a package but it was confusing and embarrassing but I said I really needed it. It was odd because I think that at package pick up sometimes you don't even have to wait in line there, but because he was shouting from the service desk area across the entire room it wasn't an effective conversation. Essentially, there was a minute of confusion as I looked around for the woman he was speaking to as did the whole line. So flustered and worried and embarrassed I turned and left. It wasn't life critical just urgently important to start the treatment as soon as I could. I'm giving it two stars not one because I do have empathy that stores need to close, that there are long lines and people want to go home. I am mostly upset that I felt that I was shouted out from a distance and they likely could have serviced my situation had they spoke to me, but it was not possible to have a reasonable conversation shouting across 20 people in line. I don't know if they would have helped me had they spoke to me or not but I consider them generally courteous and want to give them the benefit of the doubt. They could have a rope line that said like what the sign last service for today or something. Someone could have come spoke to me had I stubbornly stayed in line if they had such a thing and considered whether my condition was urgent enough to help me. It was close enough in fact I thought I was there a half hour early but they might have changed their time because of this exact reason but I didn't know that because I've been going to the post office for 10 + years now and I don't normally go in anymore but I used to do some mailing business and I had to sometimes go in instead of the post office box so I was familiar I thought with their closing time. Anyhow shouting across the room to a different customer asking them to tell another customer that they needed to leave seems wrong at every level. I recognize the employee, male, been there a long time, and normally friendly if you want to discuss this with me. Anyhow, a review won't hurt their business and maybe they could improve this behavior. There are lots of reasons we need to go to the post office after work or to pick up a package that was reported not delivered due to signature while I'm waiting all day at home for it. Rest of the story... Wife is doing better now, and this is my answer to the review request from Maps. Still the best country and wonderful people. Cheers.

Outstanding Customer Service! I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this Henderson post office location. Even though there was a wait, the gentleman working at the front desk was so amazing, professional, and efficient that the lines moved quickly. Watching his exceptional customer service created a very welcoming and calming environment. I didn’t mind waiting at all because of how well the customers were treated. This location truly sets the standard for excellent service!
