- TMTimm MasonJun 29, 20261.0My wife was treated very rudely here for no good reason. She had an appointment to get a passport. She brought her own professionally taken photos. The travel.state.gov website clearly states that this is acceptable, but instead they insisted that they could only use a photo if it's taken at Walgreen's?! (She previously tried to get a photo taken at this post office; it's badly overexposed, to the point that I can imagine it causing problems when going through Customs.) My wife tried to show USPS the government website so that they'd understand that their policy doesn't match. They refused to look at it and acted like she was trying to stir up problems. Really poor and disappointing service. UPDATE - the postmaster contacted me the same day & apologized profusely. He confirmed that the postal clerks were incorrect, and stated that he was out of the office at the time or he would have intervened. Seriously – if you could see the overexposed USPS photo they shot and wanted to use, versus the professional photo they refused, you would laugh out loud. My wife went to the USPS in Bernalillo and she had no problems whatsoever getting her passport with the photos she brought.

However, the PO recently lost a valuable padded flat pack somewhere between Placitas and ABQ without anyone having an idea of where it went (it was scanned with a tracking in Placitas). The reason for 3 stars is because since then, no one at the Placitas PO answers their phone. I've call non stop for two days and it just rings...morning, noon, afternoon. No one there can answer a phone I guess.
