- ANAnh NguyenJan 15, 20261.0Arrived 15 minutes early for my 8:45 a.m. appointment. The clerk, Bernadette, was running behind and then claimed I lacked proper ID—even though I had my passport, Social Security card, and driver’s license. I offered to retrieve anything else needed within 5 minutes and suggested letting the next customer go first. She refused both options and threatened not to see me if I was even a minute late, despite the delay not being my fault. Went to the Monmouth County Clerk immediately after—no issues at all. I was told USPS handled this incorrectly.

Went here to get my passport, and I thought the process went smoothly, until I got a "notice of denial" from the Passport Processing center in New Orleans. Every question under the sun was asked, except for one really, really vitally important question, which indubitably should have been asked (wasn't on the application form neither), and that question should have been: "Do you owe any back child support?" And I would have said, "yes, I do." Then, the proper response should have been, ..."well, that's a real potential problem, sir." This question was never posed to me or asked by the mail clerk handling the passport application and form that day. I spent $300.00 on this service, only to be denied. What a terrible and costly mistake this was! And to boot, the mail clerk said that I should put my original birth certificate in the application folder, as this "would help my cause." The only person you can trust is yourself. Sooooooo unbelievably disappointed.
