Do you think that we could at least receive a warning when the carrier isn't delivering mail for 2 days due to the usps being short-staffed??? It would be nice to know. Also, if that is the case, could we at least have the option of picking it up???

This is easily the best post office we have ever used for our mail. We've had a post office box there, off and on, for years. Every time we go there, our incoming mail has been handled superbly and accurately. They've even delivered mail to us when the sender used the wrong PO box number. Apparently, these postal workers remember us by name! Every time we go to the counter for any reason at all - to buy stamps, ask about a package, renew our PO box, etc. - every postal worker we've talked with has provided superb service, added advice, and a friendly sense of humor that brightens our day. Since we've lived in various parts of the U.S., we've done business with a lot of post offices. The team at the Portsmouth, NH post office is by far the best we've ever met, and we wish other post offices could learn from them!

My package was marked with “undeliverable address” ive called this office 10 times to find out why since I spoke to someone at the 1800 number who said the package was scanned but sent back to the sender and to call the portsmouth office for more info. On top of them refusing to pick up you cant leave a message.

Is a requirement to be hired that you can READ? i have no idea why just this location is so terrible compared to the surrounding areas. The last two months youve miss delivered several packages, completely lost packages, have absolutely no accountability for anything. WHY ARE WE PAYING SO MUCH FOR YOU TO DO SUCH A TERRIBLE JOB? You lose a package and oh well, just file a claim you say, then you deny the claim with some bs excuse. Seriously your drivers need to be trained!

Do NOT get fingerprinted for an FBI background check here, unless you wanna lose 70 bucks. Their machine accepted my prints as valid and sent them in to the FBI, and the next day I get an email stating that the FBI was unable to use the prints to run my background check due to poor quality. I went back to USPS to explain, and was told that the only staff member who knew how to use the machine was not working that day, and that they could not help me. I sent in a service request through their hotline and was contacted a few days later and told that the service is non-refundable. This was not explained to me before I was charged for the service. This location is charging for use of a machine that does not work.
