  I am writing to express my disappointment regarding my recent experience with the Staples location where I had ordered business cards for pickup. I called the store because my order tracking showed that my order had been canceled. At the time, I didn't realize I was speaking with the store manager, Mel. She explained that there had been a formatting issue with my order and that she had corrected it. I genuinely appreciated that and thanked her several times throughout the call. However, the reason I had called was simply to confirm that, despite the canceled status shown in the tracking, my order was still being processed. I also wanted to let the store know there was no immediate rush. Unfortunately, I was never given the opportunity to explain this. Every time I tried to speak, I was interrupted. The furthest I got was, "Thank you so much for fixing the issue you found, but the reason I'm calling..." before I was met with "Yeah, uh huh, okay," while I was still speaking, and then Mel hung up promptly. As someone who has managed a business myself, I understand that stressful days happen. However, I have never, and would never, hang up on a polite customer in the middle of a sentence. It was unprofessional and left me feeling as though my concerns didn't matter. When I arrived to pick up my order, I asked the employee working who I had spoken with, and he informed me it was the store manager. I asked if there was any explanation for why I had been hung up on. Rather than receiving an apology or acknowledgment, I was told, "From my understanding, it was just the kind of day where everything that could go wrong, did." While I appreciate that everyone has difficult days, I don't believe that excuses treating customers disrespectfully. When I expressed that sentiment, the only response I received was, "Okay." I want to be clear that I have no issue with the employee who assisted me in the store, and I did not want to make his day any more difficult. My concern is with the lack of professionalism and accountability demonstrated by management. I appreciate that my order was ultimately completed correctly, but customer service is just as important as the final product. Being interrupted repeatedly and hung up on while speaking was unacceptable, especially when I remained polite throughout the interaction. Because of this experience, I will most likely not return to this location. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so that future customers are treated with the respect and professionalism they deserve.
