  I just had one of the most humiliating and bizarre experiences of my life at this location. I have anxiety and am constant work in progress. Sometimes I don’t pick up on social ques - can be awkward and interactions with strangers are difficult. I hate it and just want to be/feel normal. So today, as I am walking through the parking lot to mail a package at UPS, I’m repeating to myself, “I need to mail this package…” because again - socially awkward - trying my best to avoid misunderstandings and miscommunication at the counter. I walk in, the guy at the counter says to come on over and hello. I go up to the counter and say “I’d like to mail this package…” He stares at me and says hello. In my head, I’m freaking out not understanding - maybe he didn’t hear me? or maybe I didn’t say it right? So, I say again, “I’d like to mail this package.” He stares at me like I’m stupid and says “HELLO”. At this point I realize my mistake and am instantly humiliated and embarrassed. So I say ”I’m sorry, I have anxiety and I was repeating to myself over and over again what I needed to say… So, Hello!” My voice wasn’t loud, I wasn’t a Karen, nothing crazy was happening.. He told me to “Get out of my store and take your anxiety with you!” I was so embarrassed. What in the world is happening? What have I done wrong? All because my brain hates me and I didn’t understand what was expected of me? I’m not rude to service workers and am kind and smile. Today, I missed that mark and I was kicked out of a store. I hope that guy felt big, important. I hope this guy feels great about his behavior. I hope this guy understands that he genuinely hurt a person that had no ill intentions. Just another bad day for him and a nail in the coffin for me. No one deserves this kind of treatment. Nothing happened that warranted me being kicked out of a store. All of this happened because I messed up on a social Que and didn’t say, “Hello”.

  Rude. Apparantly they expect customers to reply kindly to their social needs, and if they don't then they lose their mind.
