  If I could give 0 stars, I would. Yesterday, we needed to notarize some documents, and our experience with Gene was very disappointing. From the beginning, his attitude was rude and disrespectful. He insisted we sign in black ink, even though our lawyer’s office specifically instructed us to use blue ink. When we explained this, he said he wouldn’t proceed unless we used black. We also witnessed him make a rude joke to another female customer when she asked if she could sign the pad with her finger. He told her she could sign with her nose and laughed. Very unprofessional and unnecessary. This wasn’t our first bad experience with Gene. My husband had another unpleasant experience with him previously. After these experiences, we will not be returning. Customers deserve courtesy, professionalism, and respect.

  I always go out of my way to go to the UPS store in Shallotte instead of the UPS store in Ocean Isle despite living much closer to the Ocean Isle location . This store is much less efficient and thus slower and it's very cramped by comparison .

  Came into the store on multiple occasions looking to get my child’s forms notarized for school. First time the notary was not present. Second visit I was told “there needs to be a notary signature line” by North Carolina law. In doing a quick google search I found out that was not true. All that was needed was a secondary page where we sign in front of the notary. (Mind you Gene already tried to deny me because he was the only working employee & I had already signed one of my two copies I supplied just in case I had done something incorrectly) Gene must’ve really been on a power trip or feeling very overwhelmed. Either way it is not a good look for your business & there was a line of people watching Gene lie and then refuse service as he was caught in the lie. I gladly went down the road to a different UPS location where a very kind young man notarized our documents. Very ugly to see Gene yelling at customers as they are walking out the door.
